Go Redskins!!!!

Dad and I got to go see a Redskins game! It was very exciting. This is my excited football face and the ticket.

We got to sit in an owners box which I thought was cool until we got there and then I found out that it was AMAZING!!! But we had to walk around in the stadium twice asking for directions that all contradicted each other. So we finally made it there. We walked in and there was a big buffet with smoked turkey, salmon, hot dogs, fancy sauces that I didn't try. You got to eat everything for free. Its too bad we don't drink because all the beer and alcohol was free! We just drank free cokes. In the lobby of all the boxes were big cushy arm chairs, pool tables, flat screen TVs, and some Nintendos. Dad says that each of the boxes cost about $80,000 a year and there were about 25 just in our lobby. So they better give you free stuff for that price. While we were eating our food we saw Jason Taylor!!!! He was injured so he couldn't play. He sat in the box next to us and I stalked him until I got a picture. I don't know anybody in the NFL except for him (because of dancing with the stars) and I got his picture. Our box was nice and I was glad we were there because it had been raining all day and you could see all the people down there with their ponchos. They have binoculars for you to use during the game which was really nice. So we got to see the game really close up!
They lost but it was still fun to be there. We somehow ended up on the other side of the stadium and couldn't find the car. But in our defense, why would they have two purple sections???!!! One on each side of the stadium! There are more that the three colors that they used in the parking lot. So we ended up walking all the way around the stadium. And it is HUGE!!!
Personally I think it was very positive for my first NFL experience.

Welcome to Maryland

My car is now registered in Maryland. :( I really liked my Utah plates, I had it memorized! But the process of getting it registered was RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!! We go the Jetta inspected to start with and then we went in first in April and they told us that we had to have the title of the car to register is, but a bank in Wyoming has that title. So we had to call that bank and have them send it to the MVA here. They said that they would tell us when they recieved it but we got a copy of the title from WY and didn't here anything from the MVA until the end of July. So once that was all ready we had to get the car re-inspected because it only lasts three months! So that was $80 down the drain! Mom got off work early one day and we drove a half hour to a farther MVA so we would have to wait in long lines. So after waiting for another half hour we went up to the desk and the lady (who could barely speak english) told us that we would have to pay 6% of the worth of the car to get it registered because they had lived here for two years and hadn't registered it yet. That would be about $700! Even though they won't register a car that is not in the state of Maryland. So because I was at school with the car they wouldn't let us register it for the regular amount. Mom was not happy about that so we went to talk to the manager in the back. She said that if my school would fax something saying that my car was there then it would be fine. So I called my school and asked them to fax something and the Director said that would be fine but she had already left so I would need to call Lindy (the spawn of Satan) and have her fax it. I tried that and she said that she "just didn't have the time"! By this time the MVA was closing and they didn't want to be there anymore and we were angry with them so we went home! My school director called and said she would fax it first thing in the morning. So I left bright and early to drive another half hour to register the stupid car!!! Once I was there I went into the back and the manager approved the fax and everything was fine we didn't have to pay the 6%. Then I proceeded to wait for the next two hours before they called my number! I was very very bored!! And I didn't bring anything to keep me occupied so I drew on myself. :)

I hope you all enjoy this long boring story! :)

Workin' Girl!

Welcome to USRA
The Universities Space Research Association (USRA) is dedicated to advancing space sciences and exploration through innovative research, technology, and educational programs. We accomplish this mission by providing a collaborative membership organization where universities and other research organizations may cooperate effectively with each other, with the United States government, and other entities to develop knowledge associated with space science and technology.
I have a temporary job at the USRA!!! They were hiring students for about six week periods. I happen to have a father who works there and is respected by everyone. So I am working Monday to Friday, from 8-4. I mostly file papers and label things. It is pretty nice to be doing something now. The day went by pretty quickly and I'll be doing that until we figure out if I can work at the doctors office with mom! I got to learn what dad does. I only knew he worked with computers. So it was explained to me but really I still only grasp a little bit of it. I'm just not smart enough to know all the big words dad uses.
